The Employment Service is developing programs to provide jobs for Ukrainians returning from abroad after the war

The State Employment Service (SES) is developing programs to employ Ukrainians who will return to Ukraine after the war ends.

Roman Konoval, Director of the Department of Labor Market Analysis and Monitoring of Employment Programs at the SES, said this during a roundtable discussion at Mariupol State University.

The roundtable discussion “Ukraine’s Labor Supply: the Newest Format” was held at the end of last week at Mariupol State University, which resumed its work in Kyiv after the occupation of Mariupol.

The roundtable was devoted to the methodology of labor market research and the first results of the study “Assessment of Ukraine’s Prospective Labor Needs” by the International Renaissance Foundation. Roman Konoval told the participants of the event about the initiatives and programs of the State Employment Service for various categories of citizens, including internally displaced persons and Ukrainians returning from abroad. “The Employment Service has already employed more than 50,000 internally displaced persons since the full-scale invasion, and since the beginning of 2025 – more than 3,000. Today, the Service is already developing programs to provide jobs for people who will return to Ukraine after the war is over,” said Roman Konoval.

The exchange of information between the State Employment Service, researchers from Mariupol State University and the International Renaissance Foundation will improve the labor market situation for both job seekers and employers.
