The Media Law Institute is opening a Foundation for the Right of Access to Information
The Media Law Institute is opening a Foundation for the Right of Access to Information to ensure the proper functioning of the Law “On access to public information”. The initiative is being supported by the International Renaissance Foundation’s Rule of Law Program.
Anyone who has their right of access to information violated will be able to obtain free legal support.
The Foundation’s advisory board will make decisions on which cases to finance based on the legal grounds for the plaintiff’s claim and procedural deadlines to apply to court. The advisory board will also take into consideration the consequences of the breach of the plaintiff’s right to information, the incidence of similar violations in Ukraine, and the potential impact the case will have on improving information legislation.
