A Year of Action: How can Ukraine utilize the European Commission’s 2024 Enlargement Report recommendations for a successful 2025?

ON THE PICTURE: Close-up Of Men`s Hand Connecting Jigsaw Puzzle. Ukraine is joining European Union.

Which steps should Ukraine take next to bring its membership in the EU closer? What achievements have we made on this path and what challenges do we still have to overcome?

Join us for a discussion about the European future of our country at the event “A Year of Action: How can Ukraine utilize the European Commission’s 2024 Enlargement Report recommendations for a successful 2025?”

Ukraine is moving closer to EU membership: a negotiating framework has been finalized, the First Intergovernmental Conference has been held, and the official screening process has commenced. The next step is the adoption of the National Program for the Adaptation of Ukrainian Legislation to EU Acquis (NPAA) and its implementation, which will pave the way for the signing of the accession agreement.

A clear understanding of the achievements and challenges is crucial to accomplishing this goal. The benchmark is the European Commission’s monitoring, carried out through the annual Enlargement Reports.

To better understand the EU’s expectations and identify priority areas for reform, EasyBusiness experts have analyzed Ukraine Enlargement Reports of 2023 and 2024, as well as Ukraine’s Input for the Period April 2024-August 2024, which contains the government’s “self-assessment”.

The key findings of the analysis and recommendations will be presented at the event. We will also discuss priorities for Ukraine in 2025 at a panel discussion: “EU Integration-2025: Which reforms will secure high scores from the European Commission?”.
